Heart of Worship

  1. OBEDIENCE IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF WORSHIP

“Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

John 14:21 (NLT)

“Away with your hymns of praise—they are mere noise to my ears. I will not listen to your music, no matter how lovely it is.”

Amos 5:23 (TLB)

“Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living.”

Amos 5:24 (NLT)

“And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men”

Isaiah 29:13 (ESV)

“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;”

Isaiah 1:19 (NIV)

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 (NKJV)

  1. WE MUST WORSHIP THE LORD IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH!

THE LORD WANTS TO BE WORSHIPPED FOR WHO HE IS, NOT JUST THE IDEA OF WHO HE IS!

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father

except through me.” John 14:6 (NIV)

  1. YOUR EXTERNAL WORSHIP REFLECTS YOUR INTERNAL WORSHIP!

“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord!”

Psalm 134:2 (NIV)
